Seven Common Baseball Injuries We Treat
According to 5-Element Acupuncture theory, the year is divided into 5 seasons - Spring, Summer, Late Summer, Autumn, and Winter. In accordance with this, the Chinese Masters believe that we should eat, sleep and conduct our lives differently during each season and in harmony with what nature is expressing . . . that this would bring ultimate health and resonance.
We swim, sun, play baseball during Summer. We eat warm foods like Lamb in the Autumn, cook stews and sleep longer hours in the Winter, and watch as the leaves bring new life in the Spring.
Seven Acupuncture recommends entering the upcoming Athletic Season with focused Acupuncture treatments, Herbal Medicine support and nutritional guidance, as offered in our Prince Street clinic. This will prepare you well for the rigorous expectations of your upcoming sport, whether you're a weekend softball player or about to sign with the New York Yankees. We will examine ways to promote injury prevention, discuss performance issues and try to resolve older chronic-type aches and pains.

Chronic or acute injuries? Most times baseball injuries are overuse related.
Trauma often occurs to a shoulder when it is vulnerable. It becomes vulnerable when it is overused or being placed in the wrong position during a repetitive motion.

"Phil was very thorough and personable. It was the first time I tried acupuncture and he always made sure I was comfortable and relaxed throughout the whole session. It was such a great experience that I went back to see him for a persistent ankle injury I had from playing rugby. He needled me and also gave me advice on different exercises to strengthen my ankle to prevent future injuries. I highly recommend him!." - Christina B. -
